Superspatial magnetic symmetries of the incommensurate ferroelectric phases induced under magnetic field (H//b) in the reference improper multiferroic MnWO4

The distinct superspace magnetic groups of two spin-induced ferroelectric phases stable at different magnetic fields are determined from single-crystal neutron diffraction. The comparison of the initial and final full incommensurate symmetries transformed under field allows to predict and understand the changes in the direction of the polarization experimentally observed applying a magnetic field.
